POSITION //

  • We are looking for a dynamic + skilled Massage Therapist to join our nature-inspired spa.
  • This is a part-time seasonal W2 employee position (September - December 2026) with the opportunity to stay on as a more permanent employee based on overall performance + fit.
  • 2-3 days per week // 10:00am to ~6:00pm (mostly weekdays to start, with some weekend availability required)

OVERVIEW //

Since its establishment in early 2019, The Mossy Apothecary has been a uniquely magickal nature-inspired spa sanctuary with a witchy twist. We specialize in multi-person spa experiences + curating moments filled with deep relaxation for our guests. Owned by two women, Mossy was thoughtfully designed to be a place where specials memories are created among friends/loved ones + treasured for a lifetime. We are not simply a place to get a massage, we are an experience.

Thanks to our nearly 400,000 social media followers, guests come from all over the country to enjoy our one-of-a-kind escape from reality. At Mossy, each booking receives the utmost care in a completely private environment so we may fully focus on providing the best experience possible to one group at a time.

Each 2.5hr booking block includes time for guests to enjoy our heat therapy crystal mats, receive an intentional 70min hands on spa massage with themed/seasonal add-ons, and dive their toes into copper basin foot soaks. We expect the new addition to our team to take as much pride in hosting + leading guests through a whimsical experience as they do their hands-on massage work.

If you prefer to work solo + only do massage during your workdays, this is unfortunately not the job for you. (Please note, we do not offer regular 60/90 min massages or any solo spa package sessions.)

LOCATION //

  • Candidates must be actively licensed + insured as a Massage Therapist in Massachusetts and reside within a reasonable driving distance to our brick + mortar location in Western, MA — 285 College Highway Southampton MA.

QUALIFICATIONS //

  • 650 hour Massachusetts Licensed + Insured Massage Therapist
  • License number must be provided on resume

REQUIRED SKILLS //

  • Desire to practice the healing arts in a non-traditional work environment while still upholding the expectations, hospitality, and decorum of high end spa work.
  • Quick learner with the ability to think on your feet, problem solve, adapt, + care for a wide variety of clientele.
  • Experience doing couples-style massages in a shared space with another LMT.
  • Ability to swiftly climb many flights of stairs throughout the day + carry up to 50 lbs
  • Interest in working as an employee within a whimsical yet structured environment.

DESIRED SKILLS + ATTRIBUTES //

  • Retail experience, creativity, lover of nature, rituals, crafting, and all things witchy
  • Interest in taking on more work like assisting with private parties, DIY craft events, and more.

COMPENSATION //

  • To be discussed during the interview portion of our hiring process.
  • LMTs will receive a set rate (plus client tips) for the hands on massage work included in each 2.5 hr spa package booking block, as well as a different rate for setup, breakdown, and some of the time in-between sessions.
